Welcome to the home of the Varsity Swim Team for Troy Athens High School.  We are located in Troy, Michigan and are proud to be associated with the local and surrounding community.  We encourage you to spend a little time reviewing our website and learn more about our team.  Please feel free to contact one of our team coaches, swimmers, or parents if we can help answer any questions you may have.   

FINALLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! LADIES AND GENTS THIS IS A SPECIAL YEAR!!!

  1. Dale and Randy have almost 70 years of coaching experience.
  2. The team has acquired a best in state breaststroker (Go Darwin).
  3. The 200 IM and 100 fly records have been broken by the current team (Go Darwin and Zack).
  4. Athens actually has a state qualifying team (Relays Gombos, Hsu, Schmidt, Hattey, Jones; 200 IM Hsu, 500 Free Hsu, 100 Back Gombos, 100 Breast Hsu).
  5. Many team members are dropping time and many new exciting young swimmers!

About our Program

The varsity swim team has been in operation since 1974 when Athens High School first opened.  Following a strong commitment to teaching individual accountability for one's effort and responsibility to others in a team environment, combined with a comprehensive focus on academics, we have been fortunate to see over 700 high school students succeed through our program.

Vision

The varsity swim team and family is based on the belief that young adults, if reached early enough, can develop a strong, positive attitude toward their community and themselves.  Our team feels that this belief can translate to life lessons for each student athlete in other aspects of their lives as well (i.e., family, school, future careers, etc.).  The vehicle we promote for these lessons is competitive swimming and diving, and the teaching that accompanies it.
